Taiko

Taiko is a decentralized Ethereum-equivalent ZK-EVM and general-purpose ZK-Rollup. Its purpose is to allow developers and users of dApps developed for Ethereum L1 to be used on Taiko without any changes. As a result, dApps can be easily deployed to L2, inheriting Ethereum’s security while incurring lower transaction fees than on L1.

As predicted in our potential airdrop overview, Taiko airdropped 5% of the initial token supply to various early users. Taiko Block proposers, Taiko Block provers, testnet users(s), Galxe campaign participants, GitHub contributors on eligible repositories, Loopring community members, and Ethereum ICO participants who transacted between 2022-02-01 00:00:00h and 2024-02-01 00:00:00h on mainnet were eligible for the airdrop.

Taiko had also announced that the Taiko Protocol has been deployed on the Ethereum mainnet. Users were also able to bridge ETH to Taiko using their official bridge.

New Features and Enhancements

Faction Battle Arena (FBA)

A key feature of Season 3 is the introduction of the Faction Battle Arena (FBA). This new addition enables participants to send their Faction Badges into competitive tournaments. The arena will launch with adjustments to the format, setting the stage for future expansions and providing a fresh layer of engagement.

Badges

The Badge Recruitment system, first introduced in Season 2, will remain a core component of Season 3. Participants will also have new opportunities to acquire Minnow and Whale Badges. Some badges will remain intentionally rare, encouraging active participation throughout the season.

XP & Multiplier Optimization

Trailblazers Season 3 features improvements to the XP system. XP will now be updated more promptly on user profiles, with multipliers applied in real-time.
Key multiplier mechanics include:

  • Snaefel Multiplier: 0.1
  • Taikoon Multiplier: 1
  • Devs Multiplier: Up to 1.4x
  • Minnows Multiplier: Up to 1.4x
  • Whales Multiplier: Up to 1.4x
  • Global Multiplier: Maximum 2.5x

Participants can combine multipliers to maximize XP gains for both transaction and transaction value points.

Carry Over XP

Participants will once again benefit from XP transfers between seasons. A portion of XP earned in Season 2 will be carried over to Season 3, although the formula will differ from previous transfers and will be disclosed at a later date.

Season 2 Rewards Distribution

Following the conclusion of Season 2, Taiko Labs will commence a thorough rewards distribution process. This will include Sybil analysis conducted by a third-party partner, internal reviews, and a public announcement of the final rewards. The team has assured participants that efforts will be made to expedite this process.

Potential Taiko Airdrop

  1. Taiko has announced that the Taiko Protocol has been deployed on the Ethereum mainnet.
  2. You can use the official Taiko bridge or RhinoFi bridge to add some funds to their mainnet. There’s a campaign ongoing on RhinoFi bridge where you can bridge for free.
  3. Regular users can interact with dapps, swap, borrow, and stake their ETH.
  4. Farming on the mainnet might make you eligible for a second round of airdrop if the team plans to launch one.
  5. Please note that there is no guarantee that they will do a second airdrop. It’s only speculation.
