Shardeum

What is Shardeum?

Shardeum is an EVM based L1 that uses dynamic state sharding to achieve linearly scalability while attaining atomic composability across shards. This means Shardeum can increase its TPS capacity with each validator added to the network to retain low fees forever. Shardeum provides the highest throughput capacity of any EVM based L1 without sacrificing on decentralization. Developers can deploy and interact with Solidity or Vyper contracts without special considerations for sharding, since contracts are deployed to unique shards automatically while retaining atomic composability across all shards.

Shardeum Airdrop Details 

The Shardeum (SHM) airdrop has officially ended its activity phase, and users can now check their eligibility and register to claim their tokens. This retroactive airdrop targets users who have interacted with the Shardeum ecosystem during its development phases. Eligibility is determined based on previous network activity and geographical location, as certain regions are restricted from participation.

Registration for the SHM airdrop is open with two distinct distribution periods. Users who register between March 14, 2025, and March 21, 2025, will receive their tokens during Shardeum’s Token Generation Event (TGE). Those who register between March 22, 2025, and April 13, 2025, will receive their airdrop allocation by June 13, 2025. The specific allocation amount varies per user based on their previous engagement with the Shardeum ecosystem.

Step-by-Step Guide:

Check your Shardeum Airdrop Eligibility

  1. Visit the official Shardeum airdrop registration page
  2. Click the “Login” button
  3. Connect an EVM-compatible wallet (MetaMask, etc.) – note that email login can be ignored
  4. After connecting your wallet, check for displayed events on the page:
    • If events appear, you are eligible to proceed
    • If the page is blank with no events, you are not eligible

Completing Registration

  1. Eligible users should click on the displayed event to continue
  2. The system will validate your geographical eligibility
  3. If in an eligible region, click “Agree to Document Terms”
  4. Review the presented documents and check the boxes to confirm
  5. Click “Agree to Terms” to proceed
  6. Once both conditions are validated, your registration is complete
  7. You can view your allocated SHM tokens by clicking the “Claim” button (for information only)

Registration Timeline

  • First Period: March 14, 2025, 10:00 AM UTC – March 21, 2025, 11:59 PM UTC
    • Users registering during this period will receive tokens during Shardeum’s TGE
  • Second Period: March 22, 2025, 12:00 AM UTC – April 13, 2025, 11:59 PM UTC
    • Users registering during this period will receive their airdrop by June 13, 2025
    • Specific distribution details will be shared closer to June 2025

Important Notes

      • The “Claim” button on the final screen is for informational purposes only – it displays your allocation but does not initiate a claim
      • Actual token distribution will follow the schedule based on your registration date
      • Geographical restrictions apply and will be verified during the registration process
      • Users must complete all steps, including agreeing to the terms, for successful registration

Shardeum Airdrop campaign (Expired)

  1. Visit the Shardeum testnet campaign page.
  2. Connect your wallet and change the network to Shardeum Atomium testnet.
  3. Now complete the simple Stage 3 quests to earn XPs.
  4. Go to Stage 3 Level 1 quest and enter “airdropio” in the friend’s code field.
  5. Stage 3 includes a total of 5 levels of quests. Complete more quests to earn more XPs.
  6. Click on “Validator Quest” and complete validator task to earn more XPs.
  7. You will need testnet SHM to do onchain quests. You can get testnet SHM from their Discord channel.
  8. Also, get up to 50 XP from each referral.
  9. They’ve confirmed that they’ll airdrop 3,296,500 SHM to the incentivized campaign participants. For more information, read this article.
  10. Users who collect XPs will get SHM airdrop after the token goes live.
