What is Abstract?
Abstract is a Layer 2 (L2) network built on Ethereum that is meant to safely run blockchain apps for consumers on a large scale with low fees and fast transaction speeds.
Abstract is a zero-knowledge (ZK) rollup that is built on top of the ZK Stack. It is meant to be a more scalable alternative to Ethereum. It does this by executing transactions off-chain, grouping them together, and then using (ZK) proofs to verify groups of transactions on Ethereum.
Abstract works with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), so it looks and feels like Ethereum, but it has lower gas fees and can handle more transactions at once. Smart contracts that already work with Ethereum will also work with Abstract (with some differences). This means that developers can easily move their apps to Abstract with little or no changes.

Abstract has introduced Portal Streaks, rewarding users who consistently engage with the platform. Follow these steps to participate:
- Visit the Abstract Portal and sign up using your email or wallet to create your Abstract Global Wallet
- Once logged in, navigate to the “Rewards” section from the main menu
- Connect your X (Twitter) account to unlock additional reward opportunities
- Head to the “Discover” page and start using Abstract-powered apps listed there to earn XP
- Check the “Badges” section within the Rewards page to find hidden and public quests, and complete them to earn Badges
- Maintain a daily streak by returning to the Portal and engaging with apps consistently, as Portal Streaks reward regular participation
- If you are a streamer, stream Abstract-native app content to earn XP based on engagement and onchain-validated app usage — note that streaming non-Abstract content is not eligible for XP
XP is Abstract’s native reward system designed to reward both users and creators. Users earn XP by using Abstract apps and transacting through Abstract Global Wallet, while creators earn XP by building successful apps on the platform.

- Visit the Abstract testnet bridge page.
- Connect your wallet.
- Change the network to Ethereum Sepolia testnet.
- You will need some testnet ETH. You can get Sepolia ETH from here.
- Now bridge ETH from Sepolia to Abstract testnet.
- Also, bridge it back to Sepolia.
- Deposits from L1 to L2 take around ~15 minutes and withdrawals from L2 to L1 currently take up to 24 hours.
