    What is Ducat?

    Ducat is a credit and stablecoin protocol built directly on Bitcoin Layer 1. It lets BTC holders deposit Bitcoin into non-custodial vaults and borrow UNIT, a dollar-pegged stablecoin issued as a Bitcoin Rune, or USDC converted 1:1 through Circle. Every vault, loan, and liquidation is enforced by Bitcoin Script and settles on the Bitcoin base chain.

    Ducat has raised $4M in total. That started with a $1.25M pre-seed in August 2024 led by UTXO Management, joined by CMS Holdings, Bitcoin Frontier Fund, Samara Asset Group, Marin Ventures, ReveloIntel, Bitcoin Startup Lab, and Bitflow.     Ducat runs a points program called Quanta, and the governance token DUCAT, issued as a Bitcoin Rune, is designed to earn a share of protocol revenue in BTC.     Step 6: Redeem Your Code on Mainnet Alpha

    Go to the Ducat Mainnet Alpha portal, connect your wallet, and enter your invite code to activate vault creation.

    Step 7: Create a Vault and Borrow UNIT

    Deposit BTC into a vault and borrow UNIT against it. You can borrow up to 62.5% of your vault’s BTC value, and the position starts earning Quanta immediately at 100 Quanta per day for each UNIT borrowed.
